Does anyone know where I can get hold of a proper 1950/1960 nurse uniform? Like the ones worn on the Royal or call the midwife? Blue in colour, White button collar etc, also the hats to match. There used to be a shop called Lawrence Corner that sometimes sold them. Not sure if it still exists. Worth Googling perhaps? Edited to add that I just Googled it myself. It has closed but former employees seem to have opened a shop with a similar ethos named : 'SquadronHQ'. Lawrence Corner wasn't strictly militaria - but had interesting stuff of other kinds too, but even if the newer shop just sells ex-military uniforms etc., military nurse uniforms of that period might interest you perhaps - if they have any in stock? I got one like this for a cross-dressing fancy dress party off eBay 4 years ago for a fiver from a bona fide manufacturer / distributor in the West Midlands somewhere. And this is a sister's uniform.

This is something I am after too. You could get one custom made by a fetish clothing specialist; the company that springs to mind is Maid For Pleasure (website unknown) or any good uniform manufacturers that perhaps do a lot of work for films, TV etc... Good luck!! |
