I seem to have very bad karma when it comes to the utilities in my house.

Was quite happily watching "the box" and chatting to a friend when all the power went off....skipping down the cellar steps with my trusty torch to flick the consumer unit back on, had me encountering far far far too much water! There's gallons of the stuff! its a big cellar! I had to run back up and put my wellies on!

Now I don't mind, I can cope...but not at midnight, not when housemate is working away, and not when I've got graded presentations early tomorrow which will decide whether or not I pass this module! grrrrrrrrr!

So now I have a freezer (full) and tumble dryer and all manner of rubbish likely knackered and floating around....and there was me trying to decide whether I would fry or be ok if I tried to turn it all back on! (caveat i switched the appliances off first!)

Blimey it's going to be a fun joy weekend sorting this out, and revising for Tuesday's exam

Have a look for a burst pipe in the cellar would be my first thought this weather.

Thanks guys, just home from the presentations, they seemed to go well....fingers crossed we'll know in a week.

Now trying to muster up the motivation to face the cellar....ugh
