Because it's been so cold today, I looked at the forecast - it's going to get colder over the next few days.

Just back from walking my dogs, numb legs! It's beautifully clear, stars look lovely, saw a barn owl too. Now sat by the fire thawing out. ch x ETA Not in London, out in the sticks and it's -7 already. Edited 2 Feb 12, 6:54 PM by calmhands

Brrrrrr! Here in Sussex I have goosebumps in places no human should ever experience them as it's so cold! According to the forecast it's going to hit -10 and apparently it'll be four degrees lower than in the north pole! I just got a shudder thinking about it. I want to hibernate until it's warmer. Two buses went straight past me over-full this evening. Brrrrrr. Got home to find Mrs Wonderer had lit a lovely fire; sitting in front of burning coal and logs (as well as central heating) while the world outside chills. "Wisdom begins in wonder” (Socrates)

It's sunny and bright but oh so cold. The wind is biting. My dog didn't have a long walk today!

This weather is the only time I'd want a log fire and someone to build it

That sounds divine! What a lovely Mrs you do have, Wonderer.
There's a thick layer of ice over the cars/houses/grass this morning. If I hadn't been informed at 8am that workmen would be coming later this morning I'd still be snuggled under the covers. I need sympathy here, lots of it, I'm the kind of person that suffers terribly in the cold... even in the heat of an Italian summer I'll wear a cardigan lol

Indeed, I'm very lucky in many ways, though normally I do the wood chopping and ash emptying and coal collecting and fire making.
Ooooh - could be a new kink. A subby whose job it is to go out in the freezing cold to chop wood and then make a fire for a special Woman to keep her comfortable and warm. If I were in your neck of the woods I might offer.
