Is there any such thing as taboos left in BDSM? (72)

This post is on the Other BDSM web board.

I been floating arouf the scene for a few years now and have come to discover that if you can imagine it, then there is someone who has that kink (and most likely a FetLife group dedicated to it somewhere or at the very least a fetish)

Now, with the obvious exception of anything to do with kids, which i believe we can all accept is thoroughly wrong. Is there really anything out there that is still a taboo?

You're amazing, yes it's true. But without me, you're only you.

Scat and adult babies come to mind instantly as still having a stigma attached. Whether you would call that taboo I don't know. There are also legal ones other than kids, but they are all known I think.

Not being genuine, would be considered taboo by most and certainly by me

death.....unless gorean, in which case its theoretically possible.....I imagine most courts in most countries dont buy the argument of "s/he agreed to it" however.....

Accepting the illegal exclusions listed above. None of the pursuits within the broad spectrum of BDSM can be considered taboo. It's just a numbers game. Some activities such as bondage and hitting are enjoyed by more people, than enjoy, for instance scat.

In terms of not only what people imagine, but also what people actually do, then yes there is. I would say that sex with animals was taboo.

In some countries (including quite a few US states), sexual activities with animals are not entirely illegal.

Generally though it would be regarded as wrong by most, not just for the ick factor, but also for the fact that animals can't give proper consent.

It's not something that appeals to me, and so from an emotional point of view I can not only see, but also share the objections. However from a logical stance I do wonder about the latter, as animals don't consent to being killed and eaten, or used for testing, taken as pets or used as guide dogs, and yet most people have few problems accepting or indulging in some or all of these things.

as for the illegality argument. TECHNICALLY, aren't MOST BDSM activities illegal anyway? or if not illegal, certainly a very grey area?

As for the animal argument. I'm kinda split in my own mind on this one. I totally agree that human with female animal is wrong. the animal has no way of consenting, but human with male animal?? (example.. Fido wanders into the room, lady is waving her ass in the air, Fido mounts lady and does the deed. surely that is consensual? and not in the least bit coerced?? but then we're moving then into a whole new debate and completely de-railing my own thread lol)

You're amazing, yes it's true. But without me, you're only you.

Yes, but assuming no physical restraint is involved a female animal can non-consent, by moving away rather than sticking around, so I think the consent issue can work both ways?
