A Hook Pull is a beautiful and powerful body piercing ceremony, inspired by ancient shamanic body rituals from around the world. The flesh of the chest (or back) is pierced with needles, and hooks are inserted. Cords, attached to the hooks, are used to pull on the piercings. Participants can pull at their own hooks, and then join with others to dance and play. Done in a mindful and spiritual way this process can be transformative and magical. Throwing the hooks will be Paul Ward, a very experienced, safe and sensitive piercer. Here's what some previous participants have said: SF described it as “a journey through pain where I am pulled for power into the present moment [and] a direct opening of the heart chakra, a removal of all blocks from there.” CB said “Hooks can be painful, ecstatic, sexual, devastating, indifferent, destructive, enlightening, fierce, addictive, magical, orgasmic, and a whole load of other things, sometimes within seconds of each other.
