I am looking for sulphite free wine...
Anyone knows a shp in London that has a selection of them please?
I have found some online but delivery starts at 9 pounds so I would prefer to find a shop that sells them...
Also, I do not mean organic wine, I need sulphite free wine please...
Thanks

The problem is wine naturally contains some sulphites so I am not convinced wine is ever totally sulphite free. I think some of the supermarkets and Majestic Wine sell low sulphite wines or supposedly "sulphite free". Best to ask in store. Maybe worth calling Laithwaites too to ask the question. Think they deliver free over a certain order size.

Hi Just had a chat with my dad who is a chemist and also used to grow wine and he said that sulphite gets added to the wine to preserve it and to stop it from oxidation. Otherwise, without the use of SO2, it would only last for up to half a year even then only if stored in perfect storage conditions. So this is the type of wine I am looking for...

Are you looking for it due to allergies ? I have an issue with sulfites as a preservative in wine, but tend to find that drier and younger wines have less sulfites .. You could also try prosecco or champagne, the sulfites tend to suppress secondary fermentation which causes bubbles - if you drink wine with fizz then less likely to have excessive amounts of sulfites in it, as they want the bubbles! Great excuse to drink Champagne once in a while !! Good luck
