Have you asked in Games workshop in guildford? I know it's all Warhammer now but a couple of the guys who work there are/used to be involved in various other RPG nights.
They are quite helpful although obviously they want to sell their stuff - and it's possible they were nice to me because I'm a girl! Anyway it's worth asking or go to the d&d website, they have listings of groups and where they're based etc.
