Kink Development Grants (KDG's) (24)

The LAM is about to start a new project called KDG or Kink Development Grants. The idea is that LAM as a community event want to help people develop their careers or to learn new skills. This may be a DIY course, a painting and decorating course, support towards learning to drive or help in starting a business (excluding professional domination and event based businesses).

Forms will be available at the LAM to apply, it can be full or part funding depending upon your needs and what you want to do.

Awards less than £300 do not need to be repaid (but if you choose to do so the monies will be ring fenced to helping others in the scheme) larger awards we be repayable as and when you can afford to do so and again will feed back into the pot to help others.

The only criteria is that you must be kinky and committed to completing the course or project that you are applying to have funded.

The awards will be confidential and discrete with payment being made via bank transfer upon acceptance/funding of your proposal. Applications will be accepted at each LAM with funding announced just prior to the next event to those who are successful. We aim to fund at least one application per event but will manage the fund as best as we can given the applications made.

I hope you will all put your thinking caps on and help spread the word so we can all help each other as it were.

David

Phenomenal. What a great opportunity.

The older I get the more I recall... how little I knew when I knew it all.

I would hope that other events might look at doing the same locally but we will asses the situation on a case by case basis.

Wow!

But with my smallprint head on (blame years of telcoms marketing jobs) - how do you define kinky in the qualifying process? How do people prove it?

(Sorry, old habits die hard - it's a wonderful thing to be doing, I just would hate to see the ideals of it exploited because the smallprint wasn't tight enough)

The one who claims to be innocent - who wants to test the claim?

As its only being mentioned through kink sites I think its safe to say that only kinksters will apply. Each application will be vetted and checked to make sure that the funding is genuine (by checking up on the course or need) and we will also check the person.

Basically if someone asks for £500 a few days after joining IC or Fetlife and don't appear to have a network or much of a profile then its more than likley going to be rejected.

However from the conversations I have had with people before announcing this there are more than enough candidates to help who are known kinky people but this is not to say that you have to be a "personality" to apply.
