Masculinerised subs? (20)

This post is on the SM/Bondage/Fetish web board.

I know that some male subs seem to like the idea of being feminised and depending on your views, this may make them seem more submissive for the Dom/Domme.

However, is there a female equivalent? i.e. making a femal sub more masculine and would this have a similar effect or the reverse?

For me, as dominant man, it would probably have the reverse effect, although I'm sure there are ways of making a woman act in a masculine way and it having a submissive effect. Wasn't there a bit in 9 1/2 weeks where Kim Basinger dressed as man and smoked cigars? So I can see it as occasional role play, rather than a full on persona change.

In my mind however a female equivalent would be a dominant female taking on a more masculine persona. Either in hetero or lesbian domme/sub relationships. But that's just me.

An interesting proposition ... I would suggest it would have something of the reverse effect - although I'm far from expert in these matters. My reasoning, however, is as follows:

If by 'feminising' men you make them seem/feel more submissive (by means, I would imagine, of their forced femininity), it would suggest that submission, in this instance, stems - at least partly - from feeling feminine. In which case, making someone 'feel' more masculine, would - logic dictates - surely have the reverse affect - whatever this may be ... because I doubt it would make the sub feel dominant, since, I would suggest that dominance and submission is something which comes from within; rather than constituting 'something' which is so easily manipulated by superficial external factors such as clothing (that's not to say that factors like clothing don't have a bearing on how one feels, just not to the extent that they change a person's very nature).

My desires are nothing so pedestrian...

In 9 1/2 Weeks (the book not the film) the female submissive was made to dress as a man complete with moustache. Whether the Dom in question had gay tendencies I don't know. It kind of spiraled out of any believability for me when he then persuaded her to go out and rob someone.

Great question - flipping it over to the other perspective! It opens the mind up to how much more accepting and flexible heterosexual women might be (or are expected to be) than heterosexual men, eh?

Personally, I can't see many (if any) male dominants liking their female submissives dressed as men and fewer still who will actually force them to. I doubt they would find it sexually stimulating - I wonder why that is! ;)

It's quite the opposite with us, I tend to wear jeans and the like all the time, so having to dress in a very feminine manner makes me feel very much more submissive, and controlled by his domliness. :-)

For a particular dom I play with, this would actually work quite well. He has a thing for women in uniform and I know I could drive him nuts in a tight bun and a military jacket. A play on the subjugating authority bit. I'd be surprised if its not practiced elsewhere besides us two.

Yup... lots of people have a thing for uniforms... would you be wearing the male uniform or the female one?

I love to see men in sexy uniforms but it would have to be the male version to interest me.

For me, the idea of being feminised is the opposite of how traditionally men are seen to be attractive; strong, manly, rugged, smart, etc. Not that the men are necessarily being turned into what women actually look or act like. With this in mind, then the opposite of actually being feminine as an image or society prescribed concept is not masculinity, but is something or someone stripped of the glamour, the need to be protected, etc. So for me, the opposite of feminine is someone or something more like this. Which both i and my domly one think is pretty hot. :)

Now where were we? Ah, yes - abject humiliation!

I still find the woman in that image to be very feminine. Perhaps that's an indication that what I consider to be feminine or masculine, at least when it comes to aesthetics, is primarily based on the facial and body features that are 'typical' for each sex.

And I agree: she is hot!
