Hi All, just because I am so seriously bored I thought I would ask, has anyone else done Jury Service, I Have done it 3 separate times and wondered if I would ever be called again?

Nope, never done it. You'd have thought at my ripe old age I'd have been called up by now. Not huffy or stuffy, nor tiny or tall,
But fluffy, just fluffy, with no brains at all. |

Yes when just turned 18, and got called again thirteen years later, due to work commitments I asked to be excused, which was turned down and on appeal I highlighted that being a single parent, with little support, of 3 young children, and at the worst 3 months of the year in my industry (we weren't allowed annual leave Jan to Mar) and that I had previously done it, could it please be delayed until April onwards. The appeal was granted along with a letter saying that I was exempt for life. Note to self: just keep smiling.. |

Hiya, I did my two week stint at Snaresbrook a few years ago. I had always wanted to do it and envied friends when they got their invitations. Was not as glamorous as I thought. Lots of waiting around. Thankfully I took things to keep me occupied. Now, like you, I hope I never get chosen again!!
MKx Here I am! Now what are your other two wishes? |

No, I have never been called to do it... shame as I would love to. @The_Coven / @The_Problem_Page / I want the "Moon on a stick and the Stars suspended from bunting". / So many haystacks, so few needles! / Any man can be what a woman wants him to be, if he wants to be with her... relinquish the power to her and let her lead the way. |

I got called for a case about three or four years in Crown Court which went on for a number of weeks. I braced myself hoping for any type of case except one involving children and unfortunately that was exactly what I got. It took over two days for the jurors to come to an agreement stuck in a stuffy small room in the height of summer. Hopefully, never again. On Spike Milligan's gravestone the epitaph reads "Duirt me leat go ruich me breoite" or "I told you I was ill" |

I did mine at Snaresbrook and Chingford I too was 18 at my 1st stint at Chingford but when I went to Snaresbrook I was called 7 times in one go and as I had a notepad to remember (bad memory)...........(Beer)I was constantly elected Foreman what an eye opener but I have to say I think at 18 your not worldly wise enough to put on the black handkerchief......lol. A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything. |

It must be very random. I know several people who have been called but I've never personally been called. ***Disclaimer: I accept no liability for the content of this post, or for the consequences of any misconstruction taken on the basis of the information provided, unless that information is subsequently confirmed in writing. Yup, I'd done it twice by my 25th birthday... I thought it was all ok. Mind you I spent most of my life stoned back in those days so the idea of sitting around doin naff all was quite appealing. You see a mousetrap, I see free cheese and a fuckin' challenge - dan le sac vs Scroobius Pip |

I was called for jury service at Swindon CC a couple of years ago. I thought once one case was aired and 'put to bed' ( so to speak ) that that was it , and we would be discharged ... But no, I was actually chosen and sworn in to serve on three separate juries over a fortnight.Which surprised me. All three cases were quite serious, all found unanimously guilty by each jury, and all three had delayed sentences due to the different Judges requiring reports beforehand ....<sigh> I never did get to see a sentencing. Alot of wasted time - everyone just sitting around, paperwork, and going back and forwards to my mind .I hope i never get asked again, apparently they can call you back in two years.
