I find it interesting that despite the fact we have graeter communication equipment then our parents generation it is still just as hard to meet new people

I hit lucky when I first went online and joined IC 10 years ago. Three months later I was visiting a pair of dommes, but it went Pete Tong due to distance and the fact one of them found another partner.

A female (Domme or sub) will find it very easy to find a male (sub or Dom) simply because there are (generally) far more males (Dom & sub) seeking females.

It's far more of a male thing than a female one, as male subs seem to outnumber femsubs. I will admit I will switch if a nice female arse wants a good spanking. at uni I spanked a female judo black belt as her arse was so firm and she asked me to do it.
