This Valentines day make sure the only things you give your squeeze are flowers and chocolates (or bruises and cuts..). On Sunday the 5th of February at 7.30 at the LCP we will be having a talk and Q&A session with one of the nurses from Withington G.U.M. (Genito-urinary medicine) clinic on how to protect yourself and your partners from sexually transmitted infections. There will be opportunities to put anonymous questions into a box if you feel at all shy or self conscious asking in front of other people. Rest assured, medical professionals have seen it all before and this particular nurse has been given a detailed brief of the needs of our group to tailor the information for an SM positive, trans and queer inclusive session.

PLEASE PLEASE can people arrive as promptly as you can for 7.30, as we only have the nurse until 8.30 and it would be good to make the best use of her time she has kindly volunteered.

The venue is in the usual place at the LCP (aka the LGBT centre) on Sidney Street, M1 7HB, just behind eighth day off oxford road near to the Manchester Metropolitan All Saints campus. There shall be special Valentines baking (with gluten free and vegan options) although please feel free to bring your own along. SM Dykes provides free tea, coffee and herbal tea but please be advised the venue is not licensed so please do not bring alcohol.

Are you new and nervous? We were all new once! SM Dykes Manchester loves new people and we regularly attract new members to our meetings and play parties. While we encourage people to become members (as we are not a profit organisation, all proceeds go back into organising and paying for events and membership gives you a number of discounts) you do not have to be a member to attend any SM Dykes events.

If there are any places left people can also pay for play party places and as ever membership to SM Dykes can also be paid for.

It isn't obligatory to be a member, but it all helps.

Glad you enjoyed it! I've sent a message round to the email mailing list but for those who might have missed it the organisers also passed on some trans specific patient information forms.
