Hi I'll keep this short. Basically, my name's Kevin, I'm a scriptwriter (of sorts) and I'm into the bdsm scene. I'm currently working on developing TV pilot about single mother who supports her family as a dominatrix. However, as much as I'm into the whole fetish, there still a lot that I need to research, from a strictly professional angle. I was hoping to find a whole variety of different pro-dommes (and possibly pro-subs) in this group who would be willing to discuss their career and passion with me, answer a few question and if at all possible, allow me to witness them at work. I can't really go into much detail about the pilot as a whole as it's still pretty much under wraps but I would sincerely appreciate any help, info or time any of you could spare. Feel free to leave a comment underneath or message me directly in my inbox. I also want to make clear that this will be entirely confidential and I will carry myself with the utmost discretion. There is a series, don't know which one, which a prominent London dominatrix was adviser on, which I think was relatively realistic. 'Band of Gold' was groundbreaking in portraying s-x workers in a (somewhat) positive light. The programme maker said they really pushed the boundaries. Belle Du Jour I thought was pretty good-- the S&M episode. Well researched, with her asides to the screen, and fairly realistic. Particularly the bit where she rings the real domme and says 'what do I do now?' Have not yet seen the new Sherlock episode with Irene Adler as pro domme. I don't think the portrayal was meant to be that realistic. Generally fetish people have learned to keep away from the media. The famous Mistress Lucy, long way back, in Fetish Times discussed how a woman's magazine that she had let into her life absolutely slimed her-- she was very upset.

I remember that article. What they did to her was appalling, and deeply hypocritical in the circumstances, but a lot of the damage was done not by the journalists who originally spoke to her, but by their editors. When working with the press it's important to bear in mind that even if your initial contacts are firmly onside, what ends up being published can be negative, to say nothing of what the piece may be used for later, often in entirely different contexts. |
