Hello all,
I just wondered if anyone has had any success doing this? I have a few bits and bobs I no longer want or have never worn and would like to sell them on to someone who would appreciate them. I wanted to create a new Ebay for confidentiality reasons so I started a new registration. However, when I got to 'postcode' I panicked. I'm an individual, and if the two postcodes match up between kink and vanilla I could leave myself for a world of trouble (including my partner's professional job) but at the same time I don't want to sell my unwanted kinky belongings on my "vanilla" Ebay, which has quite a lot of innocent listings at the moment! Has anyone got any suggestions? Or any experience? Many thanks Elena x

As a starter you could try selling them on the "For sale and Wanted" group on here. Can't help with your quandry over postcodes...unless you try a slightly fake postcode? If you're only selling from that account then nothing would get misdirected. Just a thought. jules. edir for typo Edited 15 Jan 12, 10:49 PM by viragoangel

You could always get a PO Box, but of course it depends on whether the money you realise from eBay sales is enough to justify the expense.

^ This is probably you're best bet, as well as the groups on Fetlife. The main problem with eBay is the ridiculous fee's, and we have also had items removed in the past for being too....err....adult? In honour of Andy "The Kinky Cobbler"

I have three eBay accounts - 1 for business - 2nd for personal - 3rd for errrrmmmm - Kinky bits & pieces. Only problem I found was eBay needed three different email addresses. No problems with postcodes though. You do have to watch though when you are browsing that you keep the accounts seperate and dont browse for Kinky stuff etc when using your business or personal account etc. I got over this by using different browsers, Chrome, Firefox etc. - One for each account as sometimes eBay got the cookies muddled up. Hope this helps Mr_BlueSky

I too have two ebay accounts, one 'clean' the other for kink stuff. eBay dosn't seem to mind as long as they get their X% and I've been using both for several years now. Even with them taking their cut the higher price ebay seems to yield makes it a worthwhile option. Edited 15 Jan 12, 11:44 PM by Ponyboy_uk

a PO Box isn't totally anonymous, the address linked to it iirc can be requested at any post office. Behave you say? me? are you sure you've the right person? *giggles*

Right. The PO Box only adds a layer when it comes to matching up two eBay accounts to the same address, and it is of course for little e to decide whether that is sufficient or not. At the end of the day it is not easy to remain totally anonymous on eBay: you would have to seriously restrict which payment methods you can accept for one.

And being too anonymous on eBay would just put a lot of potential buyers off too.
