"Someone asks you for money, you shouldn't give it. Whatever sob story they trot out, you're probably not going to make much of a difference; the problems go much futher than a quick donation of small change. It's the entire system that's failed, delivered these people to the boneyard, dropped them through the cracks. Besides, I'm just one man, I can't solve the problems of many. I give to one, another will be along in a minute, different sob story, same request - where does it end?"
Indeed. I can't properly answer that. Let's put the question to a different group of people, the rich, the famous, the successful, those who've dedicated their lives to the accelerated accrual of wealth, of resource, of finding ways of skimming an increasingly fat and problematic chunk out of the lives of an increasing number of people who're not much able to directly do anything about it. The people who's appetites for subverting the needs of the many in order to fulfill their own, appetites that have no end.
So, then, to those that Have, who would ask the same of those that Have Not:
Where does it end?
