You can keep up to date with all the news on the Birmingham launch HERE whilst we add the finishing touches. We'll post the event on here in a couple of weeks. Exciting new developments include the following new features : • Promoters Area : A dedicated area of the venue where selected promoters/venue owners will have stalls promoting their events • Photographic & Modeling Studio : Karl Bright's Studio of Malice will be available in a private room, to shoot contestants for our "Face of the Fair" competition. This is a fantastic competition to not only be the star of the next Alt Fair flyer, but also win a contract with Spirit Alternative Modeling Agency, an outfit from Rubber Monkey Latex AND a feature in the Autumn/Winter edition of Alt Fashion Magazine. It is FREE to enter the competition, and we will be publishing full details soon. • Cabaret Lounge : We will be taking over "The End" bar adjoining the venue, which will offer a place to relax and chill out from your shopping exertions, or meet & chat with friends. The second performance stage will also be situated in this area, with regular shows throughout the day. Edited 4 Feb 12, 6:15 PM by Birm_Mcr_Alt_Fair

"Robber" lol, your spell checker won't have picked that up! Mind you they are breaking UK trading laws by not having a clearly visible phone number on their online shop and address anyway, stuff looks nice tho.
Pro submissive & switch with great dungeon & LOTS of toys! Edited 6 Feb 12, 11:23 PM by Tara_Red

Thanks for the heads up on that one Tara_Red, as typos go this one indeed was most unfortunate ! You maybe need to be a little careful when making accusations that people are "breaking the law" though. I'm not an expert on DSR regs as I don't trade online as such, but a quick scan of them would indicate that when pre-contractual information is not stored in a durable form (ie a website), a number of pieces of legal information such as the sellers geographical address, returns procedure etc, must be supplied to the customer directly via a durable medium such as an email, and the requirement is that it must be done before the conclusion of the contract if it is to be legally binding. There is no mention in the regs about phone numbers at all, nor does it stipulate that websites have to actually display businesses trading addresses. RM's e-commerce client is Big Cartel/Paypal, which supplies all RM's relevant contact details to the customer as part of the financial transaction. This is followed up by an order confirmation from RM themselves to discuss sizing, following which the contract of sale is complete and binding. RM's trading T&C are also published on their site covering returns/shipping/data protection/cancellation etc. I don't wish to trigger a debate on consumer law though as its not really relevant to this thread. There is plenty of info HERE and HERE for those who wish to seek further guidance. Edited 7 Feb 12, 9:36 AM by Birm_Mcr_Alt_Fair

Thanks Jules I'm just repeating what Trading Standards told me as I had ordered an item from a company online and there was no address or phone number and I hadn't received it. On phoning Brum trading standards that's the info they told me that every online shop must have a clearly visible phone number for customer services and also an address at least mentioned in their terms and conditions as I could only contact the company I'd purchased from on a similar online form. Brum trading standards told me they would contact the shop involved and tell them this. Turns out their online form wasn't working - they blamed the server owner - and I did get my goods. ANYWAY really looking forward to your event gonna be a great day out! Pro submissive & switch with great dungeon & LOTS of toys! |
