Okay, so we've had a post about geek films of 2011 and what we thought, but what of the forthcoming offers for 2012?
I'm already excited about an august (potential) release for Prometheus.
Looks very much like a prequel to Alien.
Not only that, but is directed by the man himself, Mr Scott!
I remember after Alien was first released, and as a consequense finding the work of Gieger. There was info surrounding that, including sketches and cartoons for ideas and storyboards surrounding other discoveries near the landing site... evidence of previous activity, a temple-style complex... lots of stuff that just couldn't be covered in the first Alien film.
Looks very much like this is what we are to be shown in Promeatheus.
Excited or what?
So what can you forewarn us about... don't leave us in the dark with no light at the end of our tunnel...

The Hobbit (14 Dec, to see Stephen Fry you have to wait until 2013), I can also tell you that Star Trek has been pushed into next year and Benedict Cumberbatch will play the baddy. The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going, at 66,000 miles an hour, around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be.

http://www.movieinsider.com/movies/-/2012/ Loads, but The Avengers, Iron Sky and World War Z are 3 in particular. The singer is a neurotic drinker

Also very much looking forward to Prometheus! Plus The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, The Hobbit (part 1), Skyfall (Bond almost qualifies as geeky, right?), Underworld (if only for the latex/lycra/leather) & Total Recall. Looks like a great year, and 2013 could be even better with Superman, Star Trek, The Hobbit (part 2) & Iron Man 3 already booked in.

Cant wait for The Hobbit, and looking forward to Benedict Cumberbach in the next Star Trek, love him as Holmes already. Strangely sexy! Going to go see the new Underworld as I have to now I have kept up with the others and I am a sucker for a Vamp/Werewolf movie....(Twilight NOT included). And I want to see the new Sherlock Holmes - A Game of Shadows movie of course, shame no ones into the kind of movies I like so I always end up having to wait til they come on DVD.
