No this is not about me going completely insane although at this rate that blog may be very soon coming, this is about my bloody dog Ella.
She is special.......no really special, she has epilepsy and as @jenevieve kindly diagnosed her basically she is retarded.
She has so many hang ups she would keep a Psychiatrist in a job for life.
She jumps on her own shadow, she attacks her own shadow, she goes crazy if you sing happy birthday, she barks at smoke, she barks at Chinese and Pakistani people, she barks at umbrellas, she barks at the Police, She is scared of teddy bears, she is scared of bubble wrap, she is scared of the bathroom, she has an habit of licking windows (no really).........the list goes on and on and new things are added each day.
This week has been terribly windy and her latest thing is barking at the wind......FFS it's winter in England, it's gonna be windy until at least April. During the day she runs and hides or jumps on my knee if the wind blows down the chimney, at night when we are in bed she barks at it. i am seriously thinking about getting her some sensory deprivation headphones.
She's sat in the lounge now looking at the wall behind me because the light from the laptop is reflecting on the wall.i love dog's and wouldn't be without her but why oh why cant i have just one normal dog.

All of her quirky behaviours and habits are what give her her character and uniqueness. A "normal" dog (if such a thing exists) would be boring. Of course she drives you nuts at times, but think of any relationship that matters, doesn't 'the other' drive you nuts at times? Lucky Ella to have you as an owner and lucky you to have a quirky unique dog There's a somebody I'm longing to see, I hope that he turns out to be, someone to watch over me | |

Your dog sounds adorable. My dog is a bit nervy but not too much. The first time she heard thunder she looked up at the sky in wonder, then hid behind me. When I let her into the garden, the first thing she does is run at a tree and grabs one of the branches. At the age of 7 she still likes being chased, even if it's a puppy. She bounces in front of them then spins round a couple of times before zig zagging away from them. I wish I had a huge house so that I could have lots and lots of dogs. ***Disclaimer: I accept no liability for the content of this post, or for the consequences of any misconstruction taken on the basis of the information provided, unless that information is subsequently confirmed in writing.
