this morning , sharp cold with a real nippy wind blowing right thru my bones , sea was bright and shimmering it looked bloody cold , cobwebs in the head all gone , blown out to sea like the gulls riding the wind . Blue sky to one side and black dark rain clouds on the other over Cornwall and behind me towards the moors a huge rainbow .
Sat and let various thoughts run through my mind , and after about a half hour the rain started to come down , small quick drops . Said hi to Sir Francis as a strolled past, him stood tall and proud on his plinth , looking out to sea , checking forever that no sneaky armadas head into the sound again .
Good day to be alive .

Is there still a cafe on the hoe selling foot long french sticks with lots of different fillings... I can't remember its name. Ib "I'm not bothered if people in general like me or not, those that matter to me like me and that's all that counts."

Is that tall industrial building still on the dockside at Millbay and is the Millbay Caff still doing topple over breakfasts - the type that is piled so high with food that it topples off the plate?? And is The Distillery still open down on the Barbican? Fond memories of the couple of years I lived there...

If only lived closer I'd take you up on that. Just looking at the picture my dad bought me of the Hoe when I went to visit him. Happy memories. Ib "I'm not bothered if people in general like me or not, those that matter to me like me and that's all that counts."

Yes the cafe's still there at the top end near The Citadel , erm not sure about the big building there are a few ! Distillery is still there but as a posh restaurant , peasants like me dont go there , was really nice as a pub / beefeater but always took about 20 mins to get served at the bar at weekend . As a Lancashire lad in excile there are not many places in the UK i would rather be , this morning was well i think the word is 'bracing'. Show me a place between right and wrong

The Distillery certainly wasn't posh when I was there - it had just opened as a pub and was a very popular place to go and drink quantities of Plymouth Gin (of course).
