It's on the table next to me. A funny little thing, quite slim, not too many pages, with a picture of a hot chick kneeling on the cover.
I've never seen my writing in print before. And I wasn't really expecting it. I've spent many a happy hour spewing out filth for the lovely and twisted people of IC, but never really thought it would come to anything.
So when a lovely girl at Silver moon suggested using one of my short stories for a collection they were putting together, I was more than happy to say yes.
And so here it is ( Merry Xmas, everybody's having fun. Oops, wrong tune. No-one wants to hear that again for a while. ) - the last tale in a scrawny volume, but words on a page nonetheless.
I haven't had time yet to read the other stories ( except the one by dedicated_kitty which I really enjoyed ) but I will.
Somehow I don't think I'll be giving up the day job just yet, but it's still a nice feeling. Might have a quiet glass of something later to celebrate.
As for the day job, the house is full of things that I'm packing up. Move south tomorrow ( just north of London. And if any of you poncy southerners tell me that's north, then I'll hit you. ) to start a new role.
Yet another job, yet another move, yet another step in my search for some kind of fucking permanence. But somehow I'm looking forward to this one. And I have a good feeling about it.
Except the sodding cat has somehow managed to eat my new duvet. Fucker.

Congratulations. That song should be used as a form of White noise torture.
North, North, North. no idle threats will make me shift from that stance Well the cat will like the taste of duvet if you do keep using them for your diabolical deeds without laundry in between...

Congratulations for the book, the job, the house move. Commiserations for the duvet. Plaudits for the cat for having the bravery to do it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well indeed no, but then he obviously is a brooder, it was a few weeks ago I said that it was still North. Anyway if he isn't idle he'll find out exactly how far north it is once he has tried travelling south to find our munches!

Congratulations - on the writing and the job/move. Permanence is something that seems to evade me too, but it's a worthwhile goal (though I possibly only feel that way because I've never had it - maybe if I ever find it the itchy feet will kick in.) And if it's south of Watford Gap, it's south.

Do i get a cut of your money ? As i was the one who pimped your writing. Hope the move goes well. And get your arse to some of the play parties that are happening in the new year down that south. But i'm happy that someone else recognised your talent.

Lovely to see your words in print; pleased for you. (Does 'just north of London' mean you'll be at events down here from time to time?) give me life, give me pain, give me myself again.

Congratulations! On all of it. Maybe 2012 will bring you more permanence. I hope it brings you more happiness. x |
