Hi Lady Anna
You've clearly had a better experience with Power Poppers than I but then I too was happy with them until the last order in October!
I mention they are selling fake products in relation to the "PWD" brands they sell like Rush and Hardware. As you rightly say, the owner of PWD Joe Miller sadly died in 2010, the company ceased trading and stocks ran out. I believe genuine PWD Rush was isobutyl. The Rush I've had from Power Poppers was originally labelled isobutyl, but then it changed to alkyl and now they are supplying isopropyl. This happened over the space of four orders over the last 18 months.
I've had a reply on another forum from someone who ordered this January. The JJ Plus he received was pentyl and was shipped from Canada!!!! Apparently it was so bad he threw it away!
Good luck if you order again! I hope you won't be disappointed. I would suggest you contact Tom to make sure you're going to get the good stuff. I tried and had my order cancelled! A tad frustrating since I've spent a fair amount of money with them in the past.

Yep, I still have some of the genuine RUSH which is iso-butyl but it's been in my fridge for a long time so I'm disinclined to use it.
There are a lot of manufacturers who are cashing in on historically premium names with inferior products, which is why it is useless to refer to any poppers by their given names these days. The only part of any label anyone should be reading is the back to see what the chemical is.
It amazes me how people are so sure that RUSH (iso-propyl) is better than Liquid Gold (iso-propyl) for example. Other than the labels you have two brown bottles full of iso-propyl. The only difference is in the storage. Where have the bottles been kept? In a cool box. It may be okay. In a glass cabinet in a sex shop. Sorry mate, but it has already degraded into acid and it'll burn your skin and cause shortness of breathe as well as a mofo of a headache.
I'll stick to what I know for now but if powerpoppers.com do ever let me down I have no idea where to go in the future. Perhaps your friend should have at least one other concern.
Ask him how frequently he uses nitrous oxide, and how long he has been using it. Suggest to him that he might do a web search based on the following:
nitrous oxide pernicious anaemia

Let's just get things into perspective here.
Nitrous oxide in small quantities is perfectly harmless. So harmless that they still give it to women during labour and carry it around on ambulances as a matter of course.
The problems associated with nitrous oxide are found in very very heavy chronic abusers who are having several hundred charges a day, for months. Health issues are not and have never been found in occasional recreational users. Unless of course they are given so much of the stuff in one hit that they asphyxiate and die, but we're not talking about that here.
If I drink a couple of vodkas I'm okay and perfectly normal. If I drink a couple of bottles of vodka a day, for months then I would no doubt encounter some serious health problems. But it is still my business and not yours.
Nobody should ever question anyone on their consumption on anything unless there is some very clear evidence that there is some substance abuse going on and they may welcome some help. Even then you might just end up looking like a prize tit.

I agree with what you say.
It was the fact that reservoir_bunny wrote that her friend had replaced heavy use of poppers with nitrous oxide that I found worthy of concern.
Note also that nitrous oxide is considered addictive.

It isn't physically addictive as in you don't get withdrawal symptoms but yes granted, like lots of nice things you do tend to want some more. Easily available, short acting, fun psychedelic, very tempting to overdo it - not at all surprising it's also known as Hippy Crack.

| Pervert! Stop taking it immediately. You will die.lol.
Back to the serious bit, I recently tried several types from a shop in north London; 3types, Rush, JJ platinum and I forget the name of the other. I compared the UN number on the bottle and found 2 of them were the same number, yet gave a different effect.

Current "poppers" available in the Uk are utter shite, and they make my head ache, just being in the same room. You can still get the real deal though.

The stuff you can buy in sex shops is isobutyl nitrate, not amyl nitrate. It's a butane derivative, and it's nasty.
I was fortunate enough to have friends who worked in a large pharmaceuticals plant in Lancs in the 80's. I remember being given an aftershave sized bottle of amyl by one such friend. Oh, the fun we had.
Great in smoke machines at parties, by the way. |

Another common misconception. *sigh*
Poppers do not impair judgement. Poppers are not analgesics. Poppers are not mind altering. Poppers do not stay in your system for very long at all.
Poppers affect your physiology; lowers your blood pressure, relaxes smooth muscle, and increases your heart rate.
Poppers are nothing like alcohol, speed, coke, etc etc. The effect of poppers lasts a couple of minutes at the very most.

I have not read all the posts on this thread, and dont need to
The above statement is wrong
The affect of poppers is short lived but the drug stays in your system for much longer and can cause impairment in judgement and perception.
Medical fact.

Can I ask where you found this information? It seems contrary to most medical research on the subject. Isobutyl nitrite has been proven to be a carcinogen in mice but that seems unobtainable the UK and EU these days.
Amyl nitrite was a common medical treatment for 100 years so it's effects are pretty well researched and documented.
There is evidence of possible eye damage amongst those prone to glaucoma.
There ARE possible negative side effects, mostly associated with over-use and overdosing. Again these are well documented but I don't see any mention of "impairment in judgement and perception."
I suppose standing up quickly and feeling dizzy due to lowered blood pressure could count as an "impairment in judgement and perception."
