Battle of the BearsIn the hidden depths of the latex designing underworld, a battle has been raging between 2 of the UKs most talented latex designers Jo (Arcanum Accessories) and the elusive & mysterious PhURC, to outdo each other in the production of ever more detailed Heresy n Heelz latex bears. The unofficial competition which has been going on behind the scenes seems to have been won this month by Arcanum, with the amazing "Count Dracularbear", voted ahead of the rival "Burglarbear", by a pair of deranged latex adicts who shall remain nameless. Both these bespoke one-off creations will be auctioned off at the Alt Fair on Saturday, with all proceeds going to the S.O.P.H.I.E. charity. Representatives of S.O.P.H.I.E. will also have a stall as usual at the event, selling merchandise in support of the foundation. | ||

I was Soooo looking forward to this event, yet for us it was the biggest let down ever, it was Sooooo not how it was advertised above, The venue was dark, scruffy and not nice. Yes it was good how you could buy the things in front of you without ordering online, but to me it didn't quite pull of how it was advertised in the slightest. ( Before all the IC brigade jump on the bandwagon, this was just our oppionion )

Glad you enjoyed the event, to clarify the comments relating to children, there was one waiting in the main bar area for the first 10 minutes that the doors were open whilst her father delivered some boxes to one of the basement traders. She was supervised by an adult and left the venue with her father as soon as he had delivered his boxes. The only other child in the venue was a baby being carried by her mother. Ourselves & venue security took the judgement that due to the age of the baby, that parental responsibility should prevail. There was an ID check in place on the door throughout by SIA badged security to prevent under 18 access. We will however seek further licensing guidance on the position with regard to babies under the age of 1 being carried. Edited 26 Feb 12, 12:56 PM by Birm_Mcr_Alt_Fair |
