I just wanted to counter the impression some people might be getting that this munch is a nest of vipers.

IT ISN'T.

There was, apparently, one obnoxious arse who was very unpleasant at one munch I missed. Apart from that, it's always been very friendly and welcoming. Neither is it full of bores droning on about the Spanish civil war, De Leonism & Syndicalism, or what I did at Newbury. Just loads of interesting and friendly people, so don't be put off.

Midweek nights are not brilliant for me, but whatever suits most people. If midweek looks best for most, maybe we could make it a different night of the week each time? That would be better for those of us who have to miss our regular night out at the ..err.. bingo on a Wednesday.

The devil is not so much in the fault as men think and will shortly be cleared of a great many slurs cast upon his good name.

I will always mix the dates/times and venues for this munch, so hopefully it will not clash with any commitments you have in March.

Thank you for adding some interesting thoughts, obvservations and questions to the initial premise. You challenge us to reach higher.

What do folk think? How far are we in the quest for sexual libertion? How might Anarchists approach this subject?

My point of view is that the freedom to think and to experiment with ideas and conclusions reached, is essential. The beauty of the Anarchist Munch, and on the boards here, is that we can discuss ideas and meet people that may like to try them out in practice.

A central tenant I adhere to, in life generally, and I find it equally applicable to kink, is that what may be right for an individual or community may not work for another. As Malatesta put it "Experience through freedom is the only means to arrive at the truth and the best solutions; and there is no freedom if there is not the freedom to be wrong."

So free debate is central to Anarchist awareness. For society to develop and for people's ideas to change, these discussions need to happen. I believe that both my political and sexual ideas and actions are valid and worthy of acceptance. I recognise that there are still many misconceptions in the world at large, on both these subjects. Even here at times.

I subscribe to the notion of taking personal responsibility and am committed to the power of truth, of debate, of being the change you wish to see in the world, to ensure that ideas change, we develop and grow, as well as society at large.

From this basis of understanding, many conclusions can be reached and ways of relating adapted to current circumstances.
