Always bi monthly, but time, date and venue vary, to allow greater flexibility to attendees. When: Wednesday January 18th 2012 Time: 7.30 PM Where: The Roundhouse, Made In Camden Cafe, Chalk Farm Road, NW1 8EH, Camden Town, 2 minutes walk from Chalk Farm tube or take bus 27. Look for the Hello Kitty soft toy - wearing her anarchist T shirt, on the table. Contact: @TheMarquise - All anarchists, anti-authoritarians, horizontalists, anarcho curious and grassroots activists, come join us, as we plant the seeds of the kinky anarchist century! Content of the get together decided by those who attend. No dress code, no formal protocol, no charge and no one in charge! Not to be confused with anything goes. No dangerous or nuisance behaviour, will be tolerated. Speak to the organiser if you have any concerns. Please respect the various vanilla environments we will be in. You will be joining a very friendly bunch of people, who are interested in left liberterian politics and kink. The conversation could be about kink, politics or both and/or anything else that takes our fancy. 'Anarchism' means various things to different people. The uniting factor of our munch is that it is a place to talk about political philosophies and how they impact or are separate to, our interests in kink. As different viewpoints may be discussed at the munch, let us do so in the spirit of understanding. If you do not know how to have a dialogue which is conducted with respect, regardless of agreement or disagreement, I do not want you here. Discourtesy and/or silly arguments for entertainment value are not tolerated. This policy is perfectly simple and easily understood by anyone who wants to understand it. The munch has been in existence for over a year and feedback has been very positive. Always happy to receive suggestions for venues, times, dates and content. When Emma Goldman, anarcho feminist attended an international anarchist gathering in Europe, she met well known and regarded anarchists of the time, such as Malatesta and Kropotkin. Not sure what Malatesta had to say to her on this occasion but Kropotkin commended her paper 'Mother Earth'. However, he personally thought it spent too long on issues such as sexual libertation and the importance of sex in concepts of human freedom. Goldman responded with the suggestion that it may be that given Kropotkins age, matters of desire and eroticism were not uppermost in his priorities. She further stated that once she was his age, she may well be less concerned about sex and sexual liberation, but not everyone is that age yet. Kropotkin laughed and agreed with her. This ancedote is a lead in to saying that I look forward to discussing all matters that strike one as important, relevant, intriguing, thought provoking and amusing at the next munch, kink related or otherwise. Wonderful. Do say going at top of thread. Was speaking to someone tonight who had the perception that only about three people attend the Anarchist Munch. Not the case at all so all those intending to make it along plse sign in. Cheers. |
