I havent been on here for ages, but I need your help
A couple of weeks ago my dad broke his hip. So bad news all round. One of the major problems is this. Its my poor dog.
My dog stays with my parents during the week while I am at work. My dad unfortunatly cant afford the chance of tripping or falling over him so I have been told that I must get rid of my dog.
I put up an advert on gumtree and had some responise however, I also received a text saying that dogs are getting picked up from gumtree are being used as bait for fighting dogs. I cant obviously allow that to happen to my poor dog.
So I thought maybe a safe solution to this all might be good old IC. Is anyone at all interested in a lively, bubbly effection border collie who needs tlc. Or can anyone local offer daycare or any help for my problem
Would really appreciate any help

Have you thought of the Dog's Trust? They won't put a dog down and will do their best to re-home him. I wish I could help, I hate to see any animal lose its home, but sadly I am not in any position to offer an alternative for you. I do hope you manage to sort something quickly. rb

If you edit this blog, you should be able to put the first bit of a postcode on it so people can see how far (roughly) you are from them - it might help people make a decision. All the best with it and hope things work out for the best. x Now where were we? Ah, yes - abject humiliation!

No no no no to Gumtree. PLEASE don't take that route. It's about the worst time of year to rehome a dog, plus you're in one of the problem areas (high quantity of strays, high rate of destruction). Could you not get a dog walker? A lot of us work, can't leave dogs alone all day so employ a walker. Or kennel him as a day boarder? If you really have no option but to give him up, try approaching a specialist breed rescue. Collies are not suitable for everyone, a breed resciue will find a forever home who will understand what's required from a household commiting to taking on such a dog. http://www.bordercollierescue.org/ http://www.bordercollietrustgb.org.uk/ Good luck. Not huffy or stuffy, nor tiny or tall,
But fluffy, just fluffy, with no brains at all.

How awfully sad. I hope you find someone. (We are miles away AND have cats). @Play_Space - Next party is Friday, January 6, 2012 and the first Friday of every month! |
