I'll second that one, very useful in covering a lot of the questions I had when first starting. Also Screw the roses send me the thorns is worth reading.

When I saw "...a book that intelligently discusses submission from a woman's point of view..." I immediately thought of Uniquely Rika which is, hands down, the best serious non-fiction book about no-nonsense Dominance and Submission from an intelligent woman. Although the book is written mostly from a Female Led-male sub perspective - and contains a bit of advice centering around the man's mindset, the concepts of dominance,submission and service transcend gender I believe.

If you read past the gender orientation,there would be a lot to learn.

From my point of view, the only books I have read that I would pass on to someone curious but uncertain are the Dossie Eason ones, or 'Screw the Roses'. I've not read any of the Claudi Varrin stuff, but I have heard a few good reports.
