This post is on the D/s & M/s web board.

Anybody know of a book that intelligently discusses female submission from a woman's point of view? There was erotic Surrender by Cladia Varrin but that is out of print at the moment...

And no Ashuk's blogs don't count before anyone starts down that track.... He isn't a woman!!

Sorry I haven't and don't want to derail your thread, but have you read the out of print book you mentioned before? [if so what did you think?]

Also if someone were writing such a book, how would you like to see it explored, ie: sub topics. Feelings, thoughts, psychology and so on or accounts of different women's experiences.

Or anything else I haven't mentioned

K :)

Why be difficult, when with little bit of effort you can be impossible?

I would think you're best off asking the women themselves.. I'm sure you know enough of them to answer your curiosities <?sp>

The real thing has got to be better than any book surely

:-)

Take my blood Sir.. do not let it drip to nothing.. but instead, spread it over your body and give me your soul...

I wish there were, although sending it to a man who doesn't "get me" perhaps would always be pointless because he either understands or doesn't.

From a male dom point of view there is a book called the Control Book which I read last year which was quite interesting.

I have got "Subtext: A Modern Day Tale of Female Submission" on my Kindle, but haven't started it yet.

Sorry, perhaps I should be more clear. This is not for me but a female friend who is more than a little curious.

When I first started exploring this I found the book "The Loving Dominant" very informative for myself about what I was feeling and being able to get my head around it.

Looking for something similar for the Female submissive as my friend is similar to me in how she thinks...

No possibility of enlightenment then?

I only made that comment because men my age.. I was going to say 40s which I was until a few days ago... men my age if they have never had or wanted a submissive woman and givenI'm not just after someone I can teach how to spank me, surely will either be dominant or not.

I don't think it's hopeless. What you hope for is you give someone a book like that and they say - wow this is just how I am, scales from eyes, wonderful. What can happen is they say something polite like thanks for the book, dont' talk about it and don't act on it because they think it's "well weird".

I'm not 100% certain of the title or author; I know it's in my library somewhere but I can't find it right now: It is called "A Defence of Masochism" by Anita Philips. I wouldn't say it's the best for what you want but there is little of the kind out there.

I think dominant or not is just a starting point, only a little more useful than gender preference. The complexity and nuances of dominance - and submission of course - are where the greatest frustrations and joys lie.
