Can anyone advise for the safe use / techniques to adopt of a dual channel TENS machine especially in the nether regions?

Bear in mind these things are sold to people who no idea about electrical play and safety considerations, so you can bet they are genuinely safe for pretty much anywhere on the body. As far as I recall, they suggest application to the face and neck should be avoided.

Always start with a low intensity and work up, pulse width and frequency can have some surprising effects, over and above the simple "volume control".

Intermittent pulses are harsher as the nerves don't get de-sensitised.

As for playing with the dangly bits, (or anywhere else for that matter) a good contact is helpful. A point-contact will be far more painful than a broad one, so conductive gel helps if you are using anything other than pads.

The dual output devices have genuinely separated outputs, there is no risk of current passing from output A pads to output B pads.

I made up a couple of clamps using clothes pegs, with drawing pins pushed through small holes drilled through the tips (points outwards!) and soldered a set of leads to them. Clamped on a nipple they made a lady squawk rather loudly at surprisingly little "volume" =-o These could of course be applied elsewhere!

You shouldnt put anything electrical across the heart, So dont put the two pad across both nipple areas. I know this wasn't the area talked about in the OP but the reply made mt think it should be pointed out.

at the risk of fanning a few flames, this is not correct.

Unless the person concerned has a serious heart problem and might react to the shock (surprise, not electrical or physiological) then current produced by a TENS, when used with standard stick-on pads, is insufficient to cause heart failure. I can get techie if you like, but it comes down to Ohms Law and the characteristics of skin and the transmission of electricity through the body together with the electrical characteristics of a TENS.

Pads placed adjacent to each other on either side of the nipple, for example (including the left one over the heart) will cause a very weak current to pass along the skin surface and perhaps a millimetre or so below. To reach the pericardium and underlying heart tissue you'd need either spiky electrodes stuck into the chest cavity, or use a full-blown cardiac stimulator running at a lot more volts and amps than a TENS.

Others have asked for, but never received, ANY validated information on a TENS causing any heart problems. This is one of the urban myths that people keep passing on.

For what little it is worth, I survived connecting myself, albeit unintentionally! from one hand to the other across 800 volts from a transmitter supply more than capable of providing the 50+ mA needed to stop the heart.
