Hi all - for some random reason i've started producing milk again, over 3 years since feeding (baby is 2.5yrs but never produced milk when i was preg or attempting too feed. Lost milk when i was preg with him, although alsmot EBF-ing the miniminx). Am on 2 meds which would cause it, but mostly i seem to have started producing since the Slut has been suckling. But i only see him a couple of days a week.

ANYWAY - would love to actually be able to feed him, gonna steal his fenugreek (long story) and with taking metroclopramide and cerezette, it n=might happen more. I Cannot use a pump at home, cos of Questions Asked. Is it possible to get a milk supply under these circs? I'm only "beading" at the moment, not producing, and not regularly either. I can managed to suckle myself, would this be enough to produce a supply?

sure i have more Q's but will think with replies :D

Small suction cups? Check the medication you're on won't cause toxic secretions although the risk is less in an adult than a baby.

no it's not toxic - both meds are given to new moms too.

But have tried the cups and no response :(

This might sound a bit mad, but what about listening to a recording of a baby crying? On headphones, obviously...

Learn how to hand express, try do it in a shower and especially late at night as that's when prolactin levels are highest.

Prolactain levels are highest between 1 and 5 am i so this is the best time stimulate the nipples. What your after is a 'let down' when the milk is forcibly elected. I am bf at the moment and only bead until i let down and can hear her gulping so have plenty of milk. One problem you might have is children loose their ability to suckle between 3 and 7 so an adult might never manage it without help. The best reference i can think of would be www.kellymom.com. Oh and plenty of oats, great for boosting your supply!

Also http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domperidone great for boosting supply and you can get it over the counter. Knew my peer support training would come in handy!

The human race needs more streakers. Shame I hate sports.

Cheers - i've done BF training, but like with actual babies :D Domperidone is only available as a pharmacy drug? not OTC unless i'm hallucinating! Not had a let down in about 3 years :( not sure i'm gonna be able to manage that...

But maybe a recording of a hungy infant might work! Well apart from distressing me!

There are a couple of websites where you can buy OTC Domperidone and also a high estrogen contraceptive pill (Yasmin), a combination of the two can significantly help. I've heard it's also possible to get on prescription in certain circumstances, but depends how you feel about consulting the doctors. Manual expression (Marmet) is something you could teach your sub, not only does it give good results but adds to the bond. Uou may also want to check out http://landmilkhoney.com/ for additional info.

Just to back up sharky's suggestion Land Of Milk and Honey is a fantastic website dedicated to ANR's (adult nursing relationships).

I've never actually had a baby, but have managed to lactate, and can still bring in colostrum very easily (haven't tried to go beyond that in some time). My biggest tips are:

Scent - have him sleep in an old t-shirt, then have this nearby so that you can smell it when you are "pumping".

Domperidone isn't prescription only, but you will be limited on how much you can buy at any single pharmacy. I used this for a couple of weeks - 15-45mins before a "pumping" session and got excellent results from it.

"Pumping" didn't work anywhere near as well for me as hand milking did - there is a technique described on land of milk and honey, which is well worth the read. Once the milk was in, pumping was the only real option.

Regularity is key

Have fun! I think this is SUCH an amazing thing to share with a partner - colourmeJealous.com ;)

There was some guy on Channel 4's "Embarrassing Bodies" who had boobs and was lactating. He had to squeeze out milk every morning before going to work.

It turned out he had some kind of growth on his pituatary gland in his brain which was causing some hormone imbalance, which they then cured.
