I have a fetish for hats.
I own several.
Also hats I will probably never ever wear (think: Ascot). In winter I wear hats on a daily basis. Matching with the coat I wear. Or the occasion. Hmmmmmm hats. "Class is the impartial, consistent display of emotional integrity." |

I've yet to find a hat I don't look a complete idiot in - shame really, cos they can look great on others. WARNING: The above post may contain inaccuracies, irony or downright sarcasm. Not suitable for anyone allergic to nuts. |

the beret - elegant on a woman, correct on a soldier, pretentious on wannabe aspiring artists and just plain pathetic on a frenchman... extremely gratifying |

Okay, I can now confirm that, yes, hats do seem to get my attention in THAT way... It wasn't even a particularly nice hat, either. "That hat makes you look like you own slaves! ... only you would go to a Goth club wearing a beige hat, and dressed in purple!" |

There are more men wearing hats again at the moment. If you're bald I suppose it covers up the bald patch. We used to wear a lot more. if you look at pictures of people at crowded beaches eveni n the 1930s you;ll see most people in a hat. I suppose houses were much colder then and you lose a lot of heat through your hair and women covering head/hair (Jewish orhtodox wigs, Muslim covering up, Catholic churches - in the old days veils etc) has often been a symbol of ownership by a man who ensures they are not covered up and no other men is tempted to hvae them because their beautiful long hair is covered up. We have some gorgeous little house on the Prairie look alikes (I think in The Brethern) locally who never cut their hair - all the women seem to be blonde and it goes down to their bottoms and they wear a cute little head scarf although I suspect it may not be such fun to be a member in reality. |

Well if they have signed up to The Brethren I guess they are happy to conform with the rules. They are known to be a very conservative and old-styled demomination. Long hair though. Yes, magnificent on some women. Back on topic however. I wear a Frankie just for the winter commute to work. Totally unflattering and certainly not a fetish; just practical warmth. I know one guy though who wears the whole tweed suit and proper, old fashioned hats as well. Not for me. I prefer to wear my own head, weather permitting. T. |
