this guy a friend of our Prime Minister,

earn's over ( reputedly ) £1.000.000.

and place's himself amungst working people ?

i know i don't often blog this type of stuff,, but this person to me seem's quite sick mentaly sick.

What is your point?

That he shouldn't have an opinion? or that he earns too much money?

Or have I missed your point entirely?

Maybe that he was brave enough to utter what a certain % of the population think?

I have worked in the public sector and I can guarantee that the majority are work shy and lazy, and that it takes 3 people to do a job that one person can do, hence they are not paid particularly well. What they do get as recompense, are as Mr Clarkson quite rightly points out "gilt edged pensions"

Do you have a pension Mr Dog? I know I don't because I don't work in the public sector and can't fucking well afford one.

Clarkson is right, stop whining and get back to work you idlers. There are plenty out there at the moment who would be pleased to have a job, and better still a pension!

hmmm i work in the public sector i am up for work at 4.30 am i am out in all sorts of weather i work bank holidays and weekend for no extra pay.

i see and have dealt with incidents that will stay with me for the rest of my life. and all for under 20k a year.

and you begrudge me my pension wich i have paid into and is part of my contract.get your facts right before you start slagging off low paid decent working people you stupid cow

Oops think I hit a nerve!

you did. i apologise for the stupid cow bit.

No problem, I totally appreciate that it is a situation that can elicit quite a lot of emotion.

Do you have to be the ice queen intellectual OR the slut whore?
Isn't there some way to be both. Susan Sarandan.

However it is we who pay the pensions of the public sector and the level of these pensions is unsustainable. Did the strikers expect us to support them in their efforts to further impoverish us? They have no sensible case and should get back to work and be grateful for our continued generosity.

^^^Agree Agree Agree^^^

when you grasp the simple point's please comment,

when you are ill you have paid for that, the people who maintain street lighting, etc etc

your suggestion is that ( taken logicaly ), forget what was agreed,( because it was a lie ),

when we who have paid for you will then be cast off when we have finished with you,

as they can claim soc benefits

Public sector pensions for the most part are unfunded. That is, they are paid for out of taxation. So an ever increasing burden is placed on all taxpayers. So whatever the pension expectation of the public sector was, it cannot be sustained.

I'm so pleased I read this, it's made me all warm inside!

I really don't understand this "we pay your wages attitude".

You do understand that public sector workers pay tax too don't you?

I'm thrilled to know the public that I work so hard to protect have such a high opinion of me. I can safely say I work damn hard and deal with "the stuff of nightmares" on a daily basis. Oh and that's including the best part of Christmas day, New years eve and New years day, this year! (Sorry son)

Idle I am not!

I imagine it's also Ok that pensions are cut and my wages don't keep up with inflation whilst those in the private sector pay themselves bonuses from taxpayers money ?

I'm loving this divide and conquer attitude, perhaps the con-dem government hopes that we will be so distracted bickering amongst ourselves, we will fail to notice the shambolic excuse for democracy we are putting up with.

Err, sorry. Your talking about a TINY minority of the private sector. The majority aren't receiving bonuses, can't afford a pension anywhere near what 'Public' employees get AND, 'public' employees, as a whole, earn more than 'private'. It was a trade off years ago, not so well paid but better pension as compensation....now better paid AND far better pensions that 'most' in the private sector can afford.

Oh well, that's alright then! Unfortunately the sums in question aren't tiny. Don't get me wrong I'm not having a go at the vast majority of the private sector, I think we should be sticking together though.

clarkson speaks from a monied point of view,,

his wage comes from you and i's pocket,, it's a bloody large wage for a person who is paid from publc money,

And in return he makes more money for the BBC from sales of Top Gear rights pretty much any other show that BBC produce!

He deserves the wage, without him the BBC would be a far poorer place. Literally.

I worked in the public sector, I watched colleagues rehash work year after year, pass on work to others, not turn up to teach, take months off for 'stress related' illness. Yet when I, lower paid, with no pension had three weeks off with double pneumonia (and went back to work too soon), it was an inconvenience to them. When the job drove me to a near nervous break down, they piled the pressure on, after 13 years two of them tried to get me dismissed (they had to apologise). After 15 years I left, I simply couldn't take it anymore, I sometimes get panic attacks just thinking about them, I left 18 months ago, I haven't worked since, I'm lucky enough to have enough to support myself for now. And where were the Unions when the Labour Government trashed the private sector pensions? Sitting on their arses, not their problem. I have no time for them and their bloody whinging, I'm with Clarkson!
