The first Rope Jam was a great success, with about 45 or so people through the day. As there was plenty of willing to do it again, it's time for Rope Jam Part Deux on Sunday, 18th December at 12:00pm. Again we will be in the downstairs room at Taurus Bar on Canal Street, and we will be holding Rope Jams on the third Sunday of every other month from now on. And just like last time, admission to Rope Jam will be FREE!
If you are driving, please remember that Manchester no longer has free street parking on Sunday. The nearest car park is Aytoun Street, which is £3.50 for all day on Sunday. A map to it can be found here.
A lot of people missed having a viable suspension point at the October Jam. While some were able to improvise, I had a lot of requests for something more easy to use. So we have a suspension frame organised for December, for all of you with an urge to hang around with your mates on a Sunday afternoon.
Apparently there's some some of big annual festival on the week after Rope Jam. Something to do with travelling by donkey and giving birth in a stable; sounds like another day in Moss Side to me. Anyway, to get into the goodwill spirit and all that sh... shtuff, we're going to [Saw voice]play a little game.[/Saw voice] To encourage you all to try something new, we'll be seeing who can make the best human Christmas tree out of rope! So bring tinsel and decorations, because we wouldn't want our bunnies to feel underdressed now would we?

That's Bring Your Own Rope. While there is usually a friendly soul at most workshops willing to lend you some rope if you're stuck, it isn't guaranteed. Whether you have an extensive collection of the finest jute or you're just starting out with some rescued washing line, as long as you're having fun with it that's all that matters. The room has a wooden floor which may not be the comfiest place to lie down and be hogtied. It may be a good idea to bring a yoga mat or a camping roll to lie on. See you there! Almost forgot, for any bunnies that want them, we will have some yellow rope to tie around your wrist to make it obvious that you are happy to be asked to be tied. Of course it is still entirely up to the bunny if they want to be tied or not, but it should hopefully make it easier for riggers to know who to approach and for bunnies to get more rope time.

hi there, i am a bit curious about ropes, but, to be honest, more to try it out for now (and not on me..). would it be possible to come? consider my mere curiosity, for now, would there maybe be any try-out rope available (i probably will not try for a bit anyway so someone else can use it then) or would you know a place where i can get it quite cheap? cheers rebelista | ||

It's BYOR, but rope snobbery is not allowed, so no need to splash out on hemp or jute just to get started. I have used nylon rope from B&Q for years. Manchester Rope Jam, Sunday December 18th | ||
