I've had a hot iron brand, but have just seen what a friend of mine in Australia has been up to. It's a FL link, but the results are impressive using liquid nitrogen. I'm talking to him about it at the moment. I've got a cautery pen upstairs at the moment, but seeing how these turned out, has got me thinking... Owner of The Croppery Dungeon and Breakfast. i tried chemical branding a little over a year ago... fifty percent success rate... mine looks like shit and hers looks great... glad i got it wrong on me... liquid nitrogen... i know with cattle it is destroys the cells that pigment the tissues... and the hair that grows from them... similar effect with us hairless monkeys...??? If you're not on FL, and consequently can't see the photos. I would say that's exactly the effect. These are big brands, with little or no 'spread', which is impressive! The slave reported that it didn't hurt much, but stung a bit later.

looked at them and am very impressed... especially the no spreading... everything i have read on bme has suggested it is very hit and miss... the images of just done and weeks later mostly showing a perfect brand turning into a mess... so i think i will be dropping him a line as well... am very curious and would like to know how he has done it... This is of interest to me too, and I have been doing a bit of research.
You might want to look at 'Cell popping' or 'Devils fire'. There is a FL group and a couple of not too bad vids on youtube, although the designs are a bit rubbish, it gives you an idea of how to do it. The tools are easy to make or get hold of and you have to make sure you use a clean flame, like a blowtorch. Not a candle or anything as it can create soot. Apparently depending how it is done the brands can be semi-permanent or worked over to make them permanent. https://fetlife.com/groups/310 |
