This really applies to those who fully converted down there. How do you dilate?Do you use the advice or tool given to you or have you develope your own method to do it?

Yes, I just used the dilators, and advice provided. The nurse usually shows you on the first day of dilating, after your pack comes out, after surgery. As @Mistress_Maud says, it can get pretty mundane after a while. You can get really peed off after 3 months of "Bath, Douche, Dilate" which is what they teach you. Though sometimes you can move the routine about once you're healed a bit. Nowadays, I'll Dilate first, then bath and douche. Just feels cleaner for me. I know some friends, who have now substituted a vibrator for the task, But really, I wouldn't recommend that till you are WELL healed, IE 16 weeks +.

I do mine on Sunday evening, bath, dilate with the tools issued, cuppa and bed. I do douch every morning to keep clean, and I use some canesten in with the lube when I dilate just to prevent any fungal problems. I do occasionally skip the bath if I'm late, but it is more pleasant to soak first. Hugs, Irene.
