Pretty much like any other message board, to put it in a nutshell. It's only a weblog

You need a certain combination of drugs and a lot of electro shock therapy........... at least that what the CIA used to wipe people's memories.

Never been bullied here, other than one or two gentle warnings from admin, when provoked! Received one abusive memo, one only, from dimbo numpty in scotland. However: one newbie friend WAS driven off site. And off the scene. Freaked by somebody 'big' on the northern scene. Same cat condoned and pandered to by others 'well known' on the scene. Elephant's memory. Never relax. LS The silky-smooth soothing voice of reason and logic. (You WILL feel much better and speak more sense while very securely tied-up...) I'm pretty much a newbie myself and this whole website is daunting but I made the decision to join knowing that like anywhere else on the internet, there will be plenty of weirdo's! It's horrible having memo's sent saying 'Kneel Bitch' but it's also made me laugh beyond belief. Labeling myself as a sub does not make my weak or inferior and I am more than happy to tell arrogant idiots to jog on when needed.
If you're old enough to be on this site I would hope you're old enough to know some people are just self obsessed fools that you don't need in your life. (And now I'm hoping I don't cause any offence with this post!)

Unfortunately I don't think the bullying necessarily stops with the newbies. Often it seems to me to be for no rhyme or reason. Sometimes for simply having a different opinion or being into something out of the usual which is kind of ironic really. I'm loud and I'm vulgar, and I wear the pants in the house because somebody's got to, but I am not a monster. I'm not.

Technically speaking, from a nilla prospective; this site is full of weirdos! as it designed for us in mind
On a more serious point: it does happen on nearly every internet site going!! I believe it was pretty bad on here some time ago with the grammar and spelling Nazis. Thank F**k they seemed to have disappeared (probably up their own holes). The web is a little like the old television set proverb
"Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth." - Mohandas Gandhi.

I'm being bullied by the clique!' [/quote] I would hesitate before I claimed to be able to judge what other people feel is bullying. We are complex animals; on the one hand, far too often we have little understanding of our own feelings and on the other, when we are being judgemental of others, I doubt that we do so fairly.

For me, the definition of bullying is attempting to diminish another person's status or reputation. It's something that we're all capable of doing - at different times - depending on how we feel about that person, or how an argument/discussion is progressing. That behaviour comes from weakness and low self esteem so it's never attractive to see. I'm particularly irritated by first responses to new threads that are basically undermining the poster. For a lot of people it takes a little courage to start a new thread and that kind of personal attack is likely to intimidate them.

People seem to be dropping like flys in this scene, so its best to be nice to each other. We are along time gone! |
