I've just seen on the local news that Philip Oliver, who was said to have been the governor of Doncaster prison at the time, has been sentenced to six months in prison for possession of extreme porn. What surprised me is that the issue, from the judge's comments read out in the news report, seems to have been more that he opened himself up to the risk of being blackmailed -- considering his job -- rather than just the images themselves. It almost sounded as if it was creating the danger of the inmates blackmailing him that was the crime. But I don't know the case, I only know of it from the news report and a short article on the Melon Farmers site, so it may have just been skewed by the news report. | |

pmsl Had all this 'blackmail' stuff when I was in the forces. Seems anyone with anything on you could blackmail you to give away secrets to the 'comies' way back during the cold war. OK so eveyone knows now - so how could he be blackmailed? Erm .... and wasn't the Judge the one in the pink dress and jack boots at the Munch last week? Wonder what life behand bars on the other side is like? X |
