why is it we seem to get every few months a Dom who joins i.c. finds his sub ..talks and talks about collaring her then starts playing with yet another sub ...without speaking to this wonderful sub he was and still is collaring ?

I have been seeing this too. Its funnier when the Uber Dom has announced it in a chat room before the 'this is the one' sub even knows of the new subs existence..
Velcro collar doms as I like to call them make me laugh...They clearly don't realise the meaning of a collar and treat it much in the same way as offering the sub a bar of chocolate.. Still it is entertaining at times...

I totally agree with you on this, sadly they have no understanding of the meaning or the responsibility of collaring a sub.
I could never call him a Dom, that's disrespectful for the true Dominates on IC, but I heard and spoke to a dum in the room the other evening and he said his had 6 subs collared in the past and now collaring his sub of 9 weeks.
Sad to say he was not happy with my response 'It's a Velcro'.
She needs to learn and understand, as she is new to the scene, so I really do not want to knock her in any way.
But what I do hope for: the sub in question will gain help and support from the people she knows from IC.

These people are not Dominant in any way. Sadly, this type of dim dom just keep re joining sites like this creating new profiles hoping no one will remember the last ID ..Then prey on the less informed members, ie newbies ...
edited to add there are also some 'subs' that do this too ...
Train crash relationships ... ahhh dont ya just love them !!! Support bacteria. They're the only culture some people have.

Then we wonder why many new subs disapear, or are apperhensive to meet others and some mentally scared.
The other thing I have found is that many say, I have lots of experience and been on IC for 10 years... yea right!! they joined 10 years ago, played with one then got involved with a vanilla and only just come back to the site after that relationship broke down. So newbies need to remember that any one can say any thing but it's down to you to think of your own safety and don't just do every thing to prove your a sub.
A good Dominant will help teach you, will take you in stages as in building you up slowly, want the best for you and respect your submission.
Loads of folks about with all the gear with no idea. The highest fences we have to climb, are those we have built within our mind
