Best not to forget second hand shops as a possible source; used chairs can be perfectly comfortable. And it is possible to have a variety of chairs between a group of people and not always sit in the same one. "Wisdom begins in wonder” (Socrates)

Afraid I am in the B camp and thinking bollocks to all chairs, any chair i picked would probably take a shine to the sofa and fuck off with that instead anyway.

Dear Mrs Skyhook, It appears that litarary talent is not limited to your other half. That was wonderfully written and more than a little bit true. I have found, that we decide what we want and look for that, we look so hard and actually when it comes down to it we are usually the worst judge of what we actually need. When we stop for a moment, give up even, that is when we take more risks, and more opportunities fall at our feet, when we are no longer looking for the right chair, we don't mind having other chairs around, and in my experience the chair we didn't expect to want is the one that fits best into our room. I think it is difficult to let go of the list while not becoming cynical about it. Which is why, for me, the best time to find that chair is not when you have given up in a dramatic fashion, stormed out of the shop with a huff, but instead when you realise that you don't need to find the chair right now. Anyways, I have rambled, so again that was a lovely post. |
