Yesterday was the Anniversery of Kristallnacht & the start of the Holocaust
It is now more than 65 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.
Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be "a myth," it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust works to make sure that the victims of genocide are not forgotten: http://hmd.org.uk/ Not just the Nazi evils against the Jews, Roma and other "untermenschen" but also subsequent genocides such as Rwanda. Unfortunately the expression "never again", used after the WW2 holocaust is just not true. As we approach Remembrance Sunday let us take time to think about how our fathers, grandfathers (possibly even great grandfathers now) fought to keep Britain and other countries free from the scourge of the Nazis. Maybe opening up one of the 'camps' and sending a few of the non believers there for a period of time with full 'benefits' might make them believe it did happen and was real for many. There is a fine line between sanity and insanity. I have a foot firmly planted either side of that line | |

What happened was a terrible, terrible thing and I would like to believe that it will never happen again But The one lesson of history is that we don't learn from the 'lessons of history' (one being, don't allow yourself to become a powerless religious or ethnic minority) So Prepare yourself for a future holocaust that will dwarf the ones before And Remember that the 'Nazis' to come will not call themselves that. |
