I am older though not the oldest of people on IC,

I am not a pacifist, but at the same time I do not rejoice in war.

I have a very simple and personal reason as to why I remember those who gave their lives in the two world wars and other conflicts, because they made the ultimate sacrifice I never had to, I never had to carry a gun, to take another life.

I loathe and abhore the capitalist system and all it stands for, and those who should know better who support it at the highest levels.

I wear a poppy becuase those who cannot, do not have to wear one for me.

I give remembrance to a life lost in any war to present day. It is a sobering reminder of what it is to be human. A day also to mark the will to make it better. Lest we forget.

A time to remember...

To remember the dead.

That is all.

For me it's A time to remember...

To remember the dead and my serving daughter along side many others.

Going to school does not make a person educated, any more than going to a garage makes a person a car
It is better to have wise people reprimand you than to have stupid people sing your praises

Remembrance Day, traditionally the 11th of November, was started to remember those lost in WWI rather than WWII, allied, enemy, or civilian.

To me it is a day to remember all those who have lost their lives in conflicts since WWI.

It isn't about guilt, or blame, it is about sacrifice.

^^^ This sums it up for me. The day we remember all those who have sacrificed themselves since 1914. And it is good and right that we do.
