Since this is a wandering munch the first J-Munch of 2012 will be at a new venue: the Tally Ho pub in North Finchley. This pub has plenty of space and the usual inexpensive Wetherspoons food and drink. Parking is free and reasonably easy on a Sunday. Loads of buses (82, 460, 221, 125, 263, 134) and the nearest tube is Woodside Park on the Northern Line. After previous J-Munches some of us have gone out for a meal afterwards. Only just over a week to go until the J-Munch is well and truly revived. If anyone wants "meet and greet" or has trouble finding us the munch mobile will be 07940 497 457. This will be switched on from the morning of the munch. I hope we'll be upstairs at the Tally Ho but if we can't find a suitable space we'll try downstairs. The pub has a fiar number of nooks and crannies so if you can't see us please look round or try the munch mobile. There will be a perverted penguin (fluffy, not book!) on the table to identify us. Parking in the area is free on Sundays. There should be no trouble finding a space nearby. Loads of buses. Nearest tube is Woodside Park on Northern Line. The Tally Ho is a Wetherspoons pub with the usual good value food and drink. In the past, some J-munchers have decided to go for a meal after the munch. There's no shortage of places within walking distance of Tally Ho. Some suggestions are:
Olympus. First class fish and chips. Fish can be fried in batter or matzo meal, or grilled. About 75% of their customers are Jewish Rani. Long established Indian veggie with a buffet. A bit more expensive than the Drummond Street places but still pretty good value. Az me shloft mit hint, shtayt men oyf mit flay : or, Quien con perros se acuesta, con pulgas se levanta. Meaning ~ If you lie down with the dogs, you get up with the fleas. | ||
