Tie, be tied, watch, learn, teach...
The Peer now runs on the first Sunday of every even month. We've got extended hours at an amazing new dungeon venue in Birmingham with lots of kit, lots of suspension points and ample space to fling some string! 3pm – 9pm Exodus - http://www.exodusuk.com Herbert Road, Birmingham, B10 0PL Entry: £5 per person (including free tea and coffee) * No booking required - just turn up with your fiver, rope if you have your own, and a willingness to learn. * The peer is an informal workshop, there's no obligation to stay for the duration so you can come and go whenever you like. The event is not structured but rodm99 is happy to present his usual beginners workshop at around 5pm and there may be the possibility of an intermediate workshop if there is interest. Directions: From the A4540 come off the Bordesley Circus Roundabout onto B4128 (McD's is on the right hand corner). Take 2nd turning on right Arthur Street, first left, then left again into Herbert Road. The entrance for the car park is on the left come through the Gates. If car park is full you can park on the street, but please use the car park entrance to enter Exodus UK. For those using public transport there are frequent buses from the city centre to Bordesley circus / Bordesley rail station throughout the day and evening and the venue is a 10-minute walk from there. Map: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b138/nyannyanx... Nearby hotels include the Bordesley Circus Formule 1, hotelformule1.com and the Bordesley Circus Ibis Hotel, ibishotel.com. There are also several Travelodges, travelodge.co.uk - with cheap rates within a reasonable driving distance. For more details about the concept of a Peer rope workshop see the peer rope website - http://www.rope-peer-workshop.co.uk - and for any questions contact boykitten (alex@boykitten.co.uk) The fetlife event listing is here: https://fetlife.com/events/77662 and the facebook event page is here: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=242506515...
We also have a facebook group, it's closed to prevent spam so please ask to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/268926393117824/ New for Peer Rope December; instead of ordering in food as has been suggested in this thread, we are going to try returning to the old format of Peers gone by of guests bringing sweet and savoury nibbles to share, for those who need some extra sustenance to get them through all those hours of rope-y goodness. With the average numbers for the Peer not yet established, and the unusually high prevalence of special dietary requirements, Exodus and organisers of the Peer have decided that it isn't currently feasible to expect them to provide catering as well. So for the immediate future it will be a small potluck picnic where everyone who wants to can contribute something and those who don't want to don't have to
It is a health and safety consideration after all all; we all know that rope bunnies in particular need to maintain good hydration and blood sugar levels as the endorphin rush often caused by being tied can cause a post rope sugar slump, often remedied by a cup of tea, a glass of water and a little "emergency chocolate". Please be aware that the Peer is now running on the first Sunday of the month. That's today, December 4th 2011. *There is no Birmingham Peer later in the month!* I am pleased to announce that as well as our usual beginners class at 4.30pm Rod Macdonald (@Rodm99) will also be presenting an intermediate workshop at 6pm. If you wish to take part in the intermediate workshop please bring a blindfold! And lastly, as an additional reminder, we are returning to the format of Peers gone by whereby anyone who wants to is invited to bring along some food to share to get through those 6 hours of ropey goodness. This isinstead of the idea of the buffet idea proposed at the last workshop. Exodus will still be providing, tea, coffee and bottled water. Sorry for the late notice on these notices and hope to see you there! x boykitten x Edited Sun 4 Dec 11, 10:18 AM by boykitten

After a great attendance last time we are planning more demo's which we hope will lead to creating interest in a variety of rope skills. Beginners, Japanese, Western, Performance, Suspension and using poles. We are hoping to have a buffet this time too. But be warned this may cost a huge amount more! Could be as much as £2.50 each !!! There is a discussion going on about the buffet. Would we pay extra for one or, should people take something with them to share?? As its Sunday, why not roast beef and Yorkshire pudding ? Only kidding, it would be a late lunch and it wouldn't be the same without the horseradish anyway!! So what is your suggestion for something to share!! Carol Dee rope enthusiast Forum Bondage
