Boris Johnsons ex aide is in court for picture of person under 18 and also "possession of an extreme pornographic image portraying an act which was likely to result in serious injury" Read more: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2011/10... elsewhere the second charge is described as "a picture of a man in a gas mask which was simply homosexual porn that would be on sale legally in sex shops".

Where does it say that a gasmask was worn? "If no sexual offence is being committed it seems very odd indeed that there should be an offence for having an image of something which was not an offence," Lord Wallace of Tankerness

Is 4 sentences the limit of the attention span of a Mirror reader, or does the story continue elsewhere? I was looking for a link ... "Wisdom begins in wonder” (Socrates)

It doesn't in the Mirror, but the Evening Standard's website report does mention it. I have the perfect accent for conflict resolution, shame about the personality.

***The second charge of possession of indecent images was brought as police judged the gas mask image to be "life-threatening", because of a risk of suffocation. *** How moronic. You can't suffocate in a gas mask. Is this just a simple case of institutionalised gay-bashing? Again. Just imagine all those pictures of naked people near a road, who are in danger of being run over by a bus. Or those of naked people on a beach who might suddenly be eaten by a shark or stood on by Godzilla. Can you tell I'm bored and have nothing better to do with my life?

But I suppose a good defence is that gas masks were designed to SAVE lives! Case dismissed.

I'm more curious as to how the police knew to look for any such images, illegal or otherwise. What the pictures are and whether they're illegal is probably irrelevant as it looks like nothing more than political skullduggery. I doubt any charges will stick but that doesn't matter as the damage has been done.

The London mayoral election campaign for next year is just getting underway, so any alternative behaviours from those involved in any way are more likely to be reported right now. Must admit a gas mask is something I've always wanted to try but have never done. I'm not standing for any public office in the near future, so thats probably ok to admit |
