This bookmark thing that's changing to 'follow'..does this mean everyone who I have bookmarked 'under the current' system..will know that I'm following them..or in laymen terms, have them bookmarked??

The list of bookmarks and list of people followed are separate. However, in both cases the people bookmarked or followed can't tell. In particular, they can't tell when you un-bookmark or un-follow them, and so can't get upset that you don't want to read their stuff any more.

I don't like it. At all. Unimpressed. I liked it the old way. Nothing further to add.

The absence of apostrophes is to get you .. yes .. it is. Grating yet ? :)

The 1980's called... they want their grey background with navy and red accents back.

Can't see the reason for the change, can't see what the advantage or disadvantages are, we have what we always had, we don't have anything new, confused.com.

I have to agree.

The big thing for me is the loss of the sidebar. The Memo's are now lost in a obscure bar at the top of screen rather than being nice and clear to the left.

Some of the new features may well be very good but the menu system is a big step back I am afraid.

I liked the 1980s ...

Except - now computers better except "hidden picture adventures" which are the spawn of the devil.

Politics - run by a right wing demagogue, trouble with Europe, trouble in Northern Ireland, City Boys flashing great wads of money about whilst most people were worrying about paying the bills. Ho hum.

I was happy with the old displays. It's like telephone directories - was there any real clamour for change ?

CTRL and - (minus sign) worked for me.

Hope it helps

I've tried using the Ctrl and scrolling down as suggested to solve the page being too big for the screen problem, but nothing is happening, any more advice would be appreciated

Before we all get carried away with font size/screen width (and the excel cell ugliness of the boxes) it's worth noting the picture in the first Admin post on this thread - there is a bar on the right (so the screen width will be as before?) and what look like tabs instead of boxes. This is just the first wave of changes.

That's what it looks like for me now with Firefox 7 (Mac OS X Lion), Internet Explorer 9 (Windows Vista), and recent versions of Safari and Chrome. That's using the standard rather than smartphone version of IC.

If anyone isn't seeing this (eg you see square corners etc) then you might consider upgrading your browser. It will improve the appearance of many other sites too.

I still use Windows XP and as Windows have pointed out the newer versions of their browers are desiged for Windows Vista and 7 not XP......what is one to do?

Also I am not in a postion to upgrade my computer so again what is one to do?

Amswers on a postcard please......

Also as mentioned previously the new screen size is highly frustrating as I am constantly moving around the screen to veiw the simplest of pages.....I am short sighted and have had to increase the font size which makes things worse, I now have to move up and down as well as side to side just to read anything.

I have not yet really looked at each new tab and page to understand what the differences are and how they work...I am not sure I really want to after reading the entries on this thread.

First impressions after such a quick glance is the site is not user friendly, it is not easy to use and is likely to give you RSI.....

I thought the point of up grading was to make things better not worse.......

Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

For goodness sake, what screen size and resolution is the new IC designed to work on. By the look of the screen cap, admin is a Mac user. Perhaps with a monitor the size of a sideboard which you sit 6 inches away from.

The problem I have is that things dont fit left to right on my screen. OK I can zoom out, Ctrl -, but then the font size is too small and the pics are tiny. THere isnt anything wrong with my eyes, I think it is just the proportions or ratio between screen width expected (pixels), font size and pic size doesnt work out. Have tried on IE, Firefox and Opera, both Smartphone and normal settings.

We shouldnt have to scroll left to right to see the full page width, even if we have to accept excessive up down scrolling.

Just my view (literally, my view)

You don't need to upgrade: that's just to get the rounded corners on the tabs etc that Skyhook was talking about. Having said that, I think you can install a bang up to date version of Firefox on Windows XP if you really want to, even if you can't upgrade Internet Explorer any more.
