I think you should always allow replies to your weblog. Some comments may be hurtful sometimes but that's how you grow and learn to look after yourself. I've had a reply blocked by a weblog owner but have better things to do than get into a war of words over it.

Personally, I intend to allow replies from anyone. For me, that's the point. I was just checking that others felt the same before barging in on too many of them.

Grammar Nazi's I prefer, we need to add some racial tension to this blog...

Also the opinion that for a newbie this person must have been around ages to have achieved such knowledge of the idiosyncracies of IC

Do you have to be the ice queen intellectual OR the slut-whore? Isn't there some way to be both?

Yep, been lurking for ages. I did briefly have a profile, years ago, when I lived in Glasgow. I'm not sure if you're supposed to mention old (lapsed) profiles, but I honestly can't remember my details and no longer have the email it was linked to. I've been meaning to join again for ages, but never got around to it.

I'm sure some people will assume that someone with a new profile and so much insider knowledge is a sock puppet, but it should become obvious in time that that isn't the case.

And yes, all welcome on mine- grammar nazis, h&s police, even that super annoying person I was so sorely tempted to be bitchy to on the boards earlier... If someone wants to make themselves look like a twat, who am I to stop them;)

Racial tension, eh? You all better not be wearing your swasticas on my blog! (it might turn me on, and then I'd have to rescue with anti-anti-semitic guilt all day!)

To answer your question, I think if someone posts an open blog with replies enabled (because you can disable replies), then replies are fine. I reply to some where I don't know the people. I've not ever heard before that people might only expect their friends to reply - that thought never ocurred to me. If they only ever expected their friend to reply, wouldn't they just send it in a message?

Thanks DVG, that makes sense to me!

It's funny, so far I've had nearly all nice memos, and just since I posted this I've had a few really twattish ones all at once! (and a nice one, I might add, in case it's sender reads this) I got my first one from a sub inquiring about my toilet habits, and a really hilarious one from someone who appears to be deeply angered by my presence on IC. Imagine a fem sub wanting to interact with others in kinkland! Incomprehensible, I know. I suppose they'll get boring and irritating in time, but right now the novelty is amusing.

Oh, for the record, yes, I know my profile is long winded and of little interest to most people. It was written largely with the aim of limiting the expected flood of memos*, and it's why I put the information most people require in the first paragraph. If you don't want to read on, don't, simples!

eta *not in a big headed way, just expecting the standard flood for new femsubs!

Yeah, you would think. I guess I wanted to make sure I wasn't making a false assumption, I'm a little neurotic that way:)

Thanks for the hallo, and the feedback!

[Just a bit of blog interaction ;-)]

Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.
