not really, but related ? During a scene last night, J was face down on the bed, in receipt of a range of impact and sensation play. She had her face buried between the pillows, so her face was pretty much enclosed by them. Over perhaps an hour of this, it struck me that she was showing a significantly higher pain threshold than usual. I experimented a bit with some blows from which I frankly expected her to yell, if not safeword. She didn't, and was clearly in a "happy place"
There was no actual restriction of breathing, except that provided by the close proximity of the pillows and bed. So, would the raised carbon dioxide concentration, together with a slightly reduced oxygen concentration be the cause, or was this simply a well-structured scene be a switch, double your fun

I would say a well structured scene where her sub space and subsequent endorphins were helping her take more than usual plus she was super comfortable which always helps. Well structured scene. The human body reflexively reacts to raised carbon dioxide levels, not reduced oxygen levels. She would have instinctively turned her head to gain cleaner air or her resp rate would have climbed to compensate. P

I've discovered that all manner of things can help me take more pain, so it's not entirely impossible that it was the "breath play", but it's impossible to know from just one occurrence, really. For example, the more turned on I am, the more pain I take. By a LARGE quantity. And if I'm being sexually stimulated at the same time as being given pain, that goes up again (and for me, breath play is a massive turnon though I am careful about who/how). The body is a fascinating thing and I love discovering what affects it! Of course, really good scenes will also do this for me (especially nice looong drawn out ones that build up slowly), so it could be that too! LSP has discovered that along with liking me holding her mouth closed, gag style, she also likes it when I hold her nose closed as well. When I see her hand flutter towards mine I know it is time to let go and let her have her screaming orgasms. In turn, she has discovered that she can gag me with a dildo and tease/play with my bits until I almost pass out.
It really is love | ||

It's unlikely that oxygen or co2 levels had anything to do with her reactions.
Such restriction would aurtomatically cause a notieable rise in breath intake as the lungs seek to compensate for the restriction in supply. More likely that endorphins and the warmth of the air intake caused her to get to a higher and happy place. If you want to try breathplay (which is fabulous) I suggest you buy a full head gasmask which offers you the opportunity to instantly cut-off/release the air supply and can lead to amazing results. A word of warning though. If you are buying a gasmask remove any attached piping leading to a filter canister. In older masks this is made of asbestos based material. A length of corrugated plastic from any diy store will replace it in total safety. Finally back in cyber world, thanks BT, the experience is truly life changing!

Or just biting pillow. I can take more if I have a cushion or pillow to hold onto, stuff in my mouth and bite down on.

To clarify and correct. Old filters on old gasmasks are made from asbestos. It is the filter, and not the hose, that is dangerous to your health. Newer gasmasks and their hoses and filters are perfectly safe. http://www.collectors-club-of-great-britain.co.u... Google for other articles and images to check your filters are safe.
