Can it be done? When I get to the upload page the "choose file" button is greyed out.

If it's an iPhone, then no. Mobile Safari can't upload photos. Feel free to complain to Apple feedback about this, as it's particularly stupid. | ||

This is a bit of a Jam Tomorrow answer, but when we overhaul the pictures system as part of the forthcoming IC.3 changes it will be possible to send in pictures by email in the same way you can with Facebook (ie with a secret uploads email address for each member.) We've got a first bunch of IC.3 updates going live later this month, and then the pictures stuff should appear during November.
