The wonderful mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly giving for what is my opinion the finest rendition of "Rule Britannia" that I have ever seen. Shown here in the 2009 Last Night of the Proms from the Royal Albert Hall.
I love her attire it evokes the swaggering male impersonators of the Music Hall era.
Humerous and so uplifting. I am Feeling a bit down today. Lots of big problems to deal with yet this 7 minutes puts a smile back on my face and gives me strength to face the world.
