Can anyone reccomend a good place (online or in Hampshire) to buy resonably priced restraints?
Prefrably leather, or an under-the-bed type system (that isnt the crap velcro type that mainly vanilla sites sell if I think about it...). Or if anyone can reccomend a good place for shackles, that would also be muchly appreciated I've tried tralling through all of the listed stores on here (and found several broken links :o ) but I wanted to hear what ones people found were good quality and value for their money first-hand, so to speak.
Thank-you Edit: (just for clarification) I understand that many people find no problem with the velcro ones I bad-mouthed above. However, having had velcro systems before and having used other peoples leather restraints in the past, I, personally, think they can't compare. The velcro ones I currently have are uncomfortable, fiddly and not very durable (I can easily slip out of them or open them, and they don't keep position very well once you tighten them). Beauty is only skin deep, ugly goes straight to the bone. Edited Mon 17 Oct 11, 2:58 PM by Innocentgirl

I have one of those "crap velcro types" and it works perfectly well. ~ It is always by way of pain one arrives at pleasure ~

Yes, they may not look pretty like leather but when wrapped firmly, they are very effective. A Fine Norfolk Domme. Mistress of @paulss My PD blog at http://mistress-keene.blogspot.com/

Yes as do I...and have never had any problems with them. I tend to unclip the velcro cuffs and clip on my normal leather cuffs...so there's no chance of the velcro pulling apart.
Sometimes the cheaper, simpler option really is good

Shackles - as in U-shaped metal with a pin screwed through the ends - are readily available from yacht chandlers, which are more common in Hampshire than fast food joints. They have a great variety of sizes and shapes, normally in stainless steel. Also "snap shackles" with a spring rather than a screw - must less challenging in the heat of a moment. DIY ironmongery departments also have galvanised iron ones.

The very best (soft, strong, stylish and very secure) of the leather cuffs we have tried, and now own a few sets of, came from the Kinky Cobbler/Leatherdelights. Ole Andy was a serious artisan, and made some of the best of type anywhere.
My maid has had a couple of pairs of his for a decade, and they are still mint, despite having seen some very heavy service. His family have carried on the stock and business since his recent demise, and may have just the items you require. I think you can still message via Leatherdelights on IC, if not; a quick mail to Jack of Jacks Floggers will soon put you in touch. They are still trading the BBB if you happen to pass such way, to pick some up in person. Best Regards, DF

I've bought stuff from http://www.affordable-leather.co.uk/ before when I was on a budget. Admittedly a few years ago, but it seemed good quality, functional stuff at a reasonable price.

I bought a spare set at the BBB last month, set of 4 sheepskin lined cuffs incl 4 double ended trigger clips and a steel ring for £50. Unique design, the D ring can be removed and they can be attached to a say a wrought iron bed or chair without the use of any metal clips. Andy,s son has a profile on fetlife https://fetlife.com/users/124774 They are regulars at the BBB and planning to do LAM in December.

Twisted Playtime, Trussed Uk & Affordable leather products always have a nice selection of restraints, am just updating images on the new website, but I find them all to be people I have used to supply my working dungeon for some years, (well twisted playtime are newer, but they still have some great stuff!) Do feel free to email me if you are looking for anything specific as I always democratically recommend the correct standholders past and present if it's something hard to find.

I bought my first pair of wrist and ankle cuffs from AffordableLeather about twelve years ago and they are still perfectly fit for purpose. They are simple and not padded but as I have oiled them with flexalan over the years they are very soft and in great condition. I have used them in many many PD sessions and they have had a hard life. I also bought a pair from Top-to-Bottom Leathers when they first started up and they are padded, soft and lovely but much more expensive. Probably too expensive for the OP's requirements. Lastly I bought paul his own pairs of cuffs from Andy at leather Delights and he wears them to bed every night. If you can spend at least seven hours in them without discomfort they must be good. So, that is three recommendations in one post. A Fine Norfolk Domme. Mistress of @paulss My PD blog at http://mistress-keene.blogspot.com/ Edited 17 Oct 11, 3:13 PM by Ms_Valentine |
