Does anyone have experience of this device? It seems too cheap to be true, so it probably is. It is not clear from the site what it is actually made from. I'd be glad of any information...

As far as I can tell without being able to do a metallurgical analysis it is powder coated steel. A powder, usually a heat-setting polymer, is applied electro-statically and then baked on to form a hard coating. The main disadvantage with these is that the ring is quite small (40mm) and the gap between the ring and cage is fixed. You can always email us or phone if you have questions about Devus products. We always try to help. Chris

I've got one of those, though in stainless steel rather than the black version. It's actually this ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Steel-Male-Chastity-De... .. but it's too small (yeah, I know, boasting..). If you want it, drop me a note and next time I'm in the loft I'll dig it out and send it to you.

"one of those" as in, an entirely different item altogether? I can double the price of it if you think that makes it better value, that's how most sites seem to work. Chris

I have a similar one (it looks to be the same ring design, but a different cage) and agree that the main pitfall is in the flexibility of the fitting options. With the more expensive devices, you get multiple collars and spacers, but with this, you just get one. Furthermore, as it's a solid ring, it has to be big enough for you to get both of your nuts through. You could probably get a snugger fit out of a device that has open rings (though doing so without painfully pinching skin is an art in its own right.) Most of these devices are pretty ineffective if you're determined to get out of them, so consider them symbolic, or even 'toys' rather than proper chastity devices. I can slip in and out of both the similar one to this and my plastic CB6000 clone, it's just that the CB is slightly trickier to do. Conversely, the CB has enough flex in it for me to be able to remove it completely (it's slightly eye-watering - crushed nuts sir?) whereas the metal one is impossible to remove completely without the key unless i'm prepared to damage the device or the lock.

Ok, "something similar" rather than "entirely different". Though the link I posted is cheaper, which would suggest they're accepting it's inferior...

It is my experience that with off the shelf chastity devices you have to be lucky. Lucky if your dimensions fit comfortably in the set dimensions of the device. We have the steel version of the black cage which we bought knowing we were taking a punt. The one we had came with a 50mm ring and is really too big. Mind you, 40mm would be too small. We know that about 42-45mm works well for us. Chastity devices are really like anything else. You get what you pay for. Custom made devices are expensive but they are made to your exact dimensions and so will always be a good fit and will be made from top quality materials which will last forever. There is nothing wrong with buying cheaper, 'off the shelf' devices but you have to know what the pro's and cons are and accept that until you get it, you may be buying something that will not fit at all.
